Micro-blogging site Twitter is finally going to formalize retweeting by officially adding it to their platform and Twitter.com in the race to catch-up with what 3rd party applications already did long back.

The feature is not yet ready to be released to its users as they are still fixing up the nut and bolts on how to make this feature work more exactly but here are a few draft screenshots of the upcoming feature:

As the company’s co-founder and Creative Director Biz Stone said in a blog post last night that in a few weeks or so they’ll launch the feature on their web site and because app developers had a chance to prepare, it should become available across most of the Twitter ecosystem about the same time.
